You need to prepare a sitemap of your website and submit it to the webmaster tool of Google. There are different tools which can generate the sitemap for you. Then you can just submit the address to the webmaster tool.
One good aspect of this process is that you it will show how often your website has been crawled in order to refresh the content. Thus if you update the contents of your website in a regular basis it will improve your rankings.
Content
This is one thing that is irreplaceable can never be under emphasised in your website. You need to have original, good quality exciting contents. Update the contents as much as you can.
You need to keep on adding contents which are relevant and useful. If your site’s contents are such that they are never refreshed or nothing new is added, then your website is going to have an untimely death.
Keep on posting articles and contents that are ageless that means articles that will not become irrelevant after a certain period. Don’t copy any content from any other websites; rather have your own original contents.

Incoming link
Another important feature that will improve the rankings is the quality of the incoming links. You can only have these links if you have good quality content. First you would need to have lots of worthy contents, which will make your website a dependable one and also provide good reputation.
